The ReadySupp Cup at HOYS

ReadySupp JumpThe ReadySupp Cup kicked off the international jumping classes at HOYS this year with a strong class and course. The specially designed ReadySupp jump rode perfectly with only one horse touching it out of the class! We think the wings really made the horses take a look. The class was won with a foot perfect round by Sweden’s Angelie Von Essen riding West Falica. Billy Twomey was a close second, and Belgium’s Karel Cox was third. Jessica Mendoza was the highest placed brit. Ben Maher had an unlucky four faults in the first round and the Whitaker trio of John, Michael and William looked like they were having  a warm up for the week. We’ll be looking forward to seeing our jump out again soon.

ReadySupp’s newest team member and brand ambassador Katie Jerram had a busy HOYS as one of the UK’s leading showing producers. Jerram rode the lovely Barbers Shop, who is owned by HM The Queen, in the Ladies Side Saddle Championship and although he behaved impeccably he wasn’t placed this time out. The class was sadly marred by a little controversy after Dolly Maud, who was called forward as the initial winner, was asked to leave the ring when her mount Aunty Iris refused to behave for the presentation and a new winner was called forward.

We caught up with Katie in between competing (she was third in the lightweights) and judging to find out what happens once the bright lights of the NEC are switched off. We’ll be sharing a lot more of what Katie has to say in the coming weeks…
